Bob Raymond  > Agriculture & Energy > Rexville Digester Now!
FarmPower has built and is now operating an anaerobic digester in the Skagit Valley near Mount Vernon, Washington. The digester is between two dairy farms and captures manure to generate methane gas which will be used to generate electricity which will be purchased by Puget Sound Energy. Fertilizer and animal bedding materials are important by-products. The digester went on line on August 28, 2009. Andgar Corporation of Ferndale Washington is the general contractor. For information see http://www.farmpower.com or email: FarmPowerNW@gmail.com. For the pictorial history of construction, click on "Agriculture & Energy" and select "Construction History at Rexville."

Bob Raymond > Day 280: August 31. Liquids from the end of the digester process and after the fiber has been removed pour back into the holding tank. This will be pumped back to the two dairies for use on the fields.
Bob Raymond > Day 276: August 27, 2009. Manure from the two farms flows into the central reception pit and then into the digester.
Bob Raymond > Day 280: August 31. Recently delivered whey at the substrate reception pit.
Bob Raymond > Day 280: August 31. Hydro-seeding all around all side of the digester. Using fiber as the hydro-seeding medium
Bob Raymond > Day 280: August 31. Manure at the end of its cycle through the digester passes through the separator. The fiber then goes through a press onto a conveyor and is dumped into a truck.
Bob Raymond > Day 280: August 31. Manure pouring into the central pit from Harmony Dairy and at the same time the flexible tube to the right of the incoming stream is full indicating it is uploading manure into the digester.
